, November 18, 2012 at 10:10 pmI was able to load the "modern" baby quilt onto Gladys the Gammill pretty quickly, hurray! I have been pretty motivated to sew because that baby is coming in less than a month. I want to get a few more things done so I can just enjoy her once she gets here. Here is the modern quilt on the Longarm.
I haven't been able to do any more quilting since I got it up and on there as we were "displaced" by our most recent home improvement project. Shelby graduated from college and is living in Spain, in fact she has only spent 5 nights here since she graduated. We decided NOT to leave her room as a cluttered storage space/shrine but to make it into a home office. Phew, what a lot of work. First we had to organize her remaining stuff and put it all in bins stored above the garage. Then, we had a guy come in last Thursday and Friday to replace the carpeting with wooden floors and we did the floors in our bedroom also. What a mess! Plus they are not quite finished yet.
So I was glad that I had picked up Red Snappers when I was on my Quilt retreat. It made getting the quilt on the longarm much faster. I had a few issues at first but once I got the hang of it, I loved them. Here's a close up of them.
They were created by Renae Haddadin and you can buy them at her website, Quilts on the corner as well as other longarm supply shops. I got mine at my longarm shop, At the Heart of Quilting.
It was a pleasure to use them and have them work! Another plus of attending a retreat, you find new ways to spend your money! Ha! Seriously, I do like keeping up in the Quilting world and I guess Modern Quilts and Red Snappers are both part of what is new in Quilting.
Now I just need to do more with both those new concepts!
Sew happy!
