Apple re-issues Samsung apology

Apple has changed a statement on its website claiming Samsung copied its iPad design following an order by a UK court which found its ?apology? to be untrue and incorrect.

The mobile giant was forced to reissue the statement, which it was initially instructed to make following Samsung?s legal win against Apple in the UK, after it flouted the order by adding several unsanctioned sentences to the apology.?

The UK court had ruled Apple must run notices on its UK website and in several print publications stating Samsung did not infringe Apple patents for its iPad, for one month.

Apple ran the notice but added an excerpt from a July judgement which said Samsung tablets do not infringe on the US company's design because "they are not as cool?, as well as a link to its court win in Germany against Samsung for patent infringement.

The UK court judge at the centre of the lawsuit said last week he was ?at a loss? for why Apple would do such a thing, and said it was a ?plain breach of the order?.?

Apple has now changed the notice to comply with court order. In its statement, on its UK website, it admits Samsung did not infringe its patents in that country and links to the judgements.?
