Will the World End in 2012?: What the Psychics Have to Say

Is the world about to end? Is Doomsday really right around the corner? There are quite a few people who seem to think so. This belief stems from an ancient culture of people who had one of the most advanced calendar systems, the Mayans.

Understanding the Mayans

The Mayans were considered by many to be one of the most advanced societies on the planet. They excelled in agriculture, growing large crops of corn, beans and squash. The Mayan culture is also known for its achievements in architecture. Many of their giant stone creations still exist to this day.

mayan agriculture to end of the world 2012The Mayans were also artists. Art was at the root of everything they did. They even had their own system of hieroglyphic writing that was artistic. Math was another area that the Mayans excelled in. Using these two skills, the Mayans were able to create what is thought to be the most accurate calendar in the world. It is slightly different from the calendar that we use today and it is much more complicated.

The Mayan calendar was three calendars that worked at the same time. These three calendars were: the Religious Calendar, the Solar Calendar and the Long Count. Each of these calendars worked together to help determine the date. The calendar used different pieces of art to help signify periods of time, which happens to abruptly end on December 21 2012.

This same calendar has existed for over 5000 years and there are many people who believe this calendar predicts Doomsday. It just so happens that this very same day, December 21 is the winter solstice, but this solstice will prove to be extraordinary. On Dec. 21 2012, the sun will converge with the equator of the Milky Way. The Milky Way will cover the entire horizon and the Earth will be completely surrounded by the Milky Way. According to Mayan legend, this is supposed to open a ?Cosmic Gateway.?

What Do The Psychics Think?

Most of the top psychics in the world do not think that the world is going to end in 2012, a question that has surely ushered in many people for psychic readings this year. Is the Mayan calendar just being misinterpreted? Some say yes. The winter solstice that happens on December 21 2012 could mark the end of one cycle. When one cycle ends, another cycle begins. December 212012 might not be the end, but rather, a new beginning.

For every informed psychic that thinks the world is going to end in 2012, there are just as many who think the exact opposite. They think that at 11:11 on Dec. 21, a new type of world enlightenment will spread across the Earth. Peace will become a reality. The world will exist in a utopian state, but this belief is not what is widely publicized because it does not sell as well as the Doomsday scenario.

Some psychics, including those at Oranum, are predicting positive things for 2012, but there will also be not-so-positive things. There have already been several disasters in 2012 and some psychics, in fact, predicted these events. There have been earthquakes, tidal waves, tornadoes, freak storms and wars. However, keep in mind that these things have been happening for a very long time. These are not new occurrences or an omen of end times.

Will December 21, 2012 be fire and brimstone, the birth of an age of enlightenment, or will things continue to exist just the way they always have? This has become the topic of many debates among both scientists and people in the psychic community. There is only one way to find out what is going to happen on Dec. 21, and that is to wait and see.
